The Massachusetts Watershed Coalition works with communities and officials on the local and state level to develop Greenprint guides for land conservation, housing development and open space preservation that are consistent with the state's Sustainable Development Principles.
We call this Greenprint Watershed Management.
This management technique identifies resources that people want to preserve as well as locations suitable for housing development with the goal of using this knowledge to facilitate the use of low-impact technologies that help prevent damages to land and water resources.
The result will be regional guides focused on Massachusetts' 28 watersheds that help to retain community character, protect local ecosystems and improve housing options for Massachusetts residents.
To date, we have produced the Wachusett Greenprint — which you may find out more about here...
We have much more work to do.
The Massachusetts Watershed Coalition relies on the support of area communities, private companies and organizations, and individuals to execute this plan. Please consider making a financial contribution to help with this important work. Thank you!
