February 11, 2010 - Community Stormwater Solutions: Keeping Your Streams Alive
More than 110 people including municipal officials, engineers, public works staff, homebuilders, contractors and environmental advocates, gathered at The Trustees of Reservations' Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster for the MWC Annual Meeting and Stormwater Solutions conference.
Stormwater is produced by the entire community and everyone can remedy runoff. The meeting was an opportunity to share information about remedies that can prevent damages and restore the health of local streams, ponds and water supplies. Please click to view and download the full meeting AGENDA.
Fred Civian kicked off the evening with analysis of the links among stormwater regulations, impervious cover and impaired waters across the state. Fred’s insights led into Sara Cohen’s exciting review of many effective stormwater solutions in Ipswich and Wilmington. Six concurrent workshops then supplied practical guidance on varied topics.
Expert speakers included Glenn Krevosky, Thelma Murphy, Nancy Bryant, Joe Delaney, Mickey Marcus, Ian Cooke, Mike Clark and R. Carter Scott. Please click on topic below to view a pdf version of the Powerpoint presentation:
